Today's Brain Bump
Five questions. Two minutes. One worldwide score.
Same puzzle for everyone — refreshed at midnight.

Why play here

Built for groups. Not for grind.

Short rounds, fair scoring, and zero friction. Here's what makes CogniBump worth a daily click.

Same puzzle, worldwide

Everyone gets the same questions today. Compare scores in a group chat or at the dinner table — fair every time.

Open and play

Click a link. That's it. Progress lives in your browser — no signup, no app store, no waiting on a download.

Pass-the-phone ready

TagTeam relays and shareable challenge links turn solo puzzles into couch co-op or async group rivalry.

Classroom-grade

Math drills, geography quizzes, and a daily routine that works as a 5-minute warmup. No student logins, ever.

Who plays here

A site that fits your routine.

CogniBump is built for the small windows of the day — the wait at the bus stop, the first five minutes of class, the silence between two work meetings. Here's how three different groups actually use it.

Families

A daily ritual that beats the scroll.

Open the Daily 5 at dinner and pass the phone around the table. Because the puzzle is identical worldwide, kids and grandparents are competing on equal terms — the 11-year-old genuinely might beat everyone else. Math drills double as homework support without feeling like homework.

Classrooms

A five-minute warmup students ask for.

Start class with a Daily 5 round on the projector or send students to a math drill on their devices. No accounts, no rosters, no IT tickets — just a URL. Quietly works on recall, fluency, and geography knowledge while feeling like a treat, not a lesson.

Group chats & friends

One link, two players, zero apps.

Generate a TagTeam link and drop it into your group chat. Friends solve the same puzzle async — across time zones, across schedules — and the leaderboard takes care of itself. Great for long-distance siblings, college rivalries, and that one friend who always wants a rematch.

Get better, not just faster

Five tips that actually help.

Brain games reward repetition, but they reward better strategy more. Here's what we've learned watching thousands of plays — small habits that consistently move the score.

  1. 01

    Open with vowel-heavy words.

In WordRush, your first guess is information-gathering, not a guess. Words like STARE, RAISE, or AROSE cover four of the five most common letters in English — turning a blind sprint into a focused search.

    Try it on WordRush →
  2. 02

Read all four options before you click.

On the Daily 5, the timer rewards speed but punishes misclicks more than slow-but-correct answers. A two-second scan of every option saves you from the trap option sitting right next to the real one.

Try it on Daily 5 →
  3. 03

    Learn flag families, not flags.

Nordic countries share a sideways cross. Pan-African flags share red, gold, and green. Pan-Arab flags share black, white, red, and green. Pattern recognition gets you 30+ flags before you've memorized a single one.

Try it on Guess the Flag →
  4. 04

In a relay, pass the easy guesses.

TagTeam scoring rewards the team, not the individual. Save your highest-confidence guess for your own turn so your partner gets the wide-open finish. It feels generous; it actually plays smarter.

    Try it on TagTeam →
  5. 05

Anchor a streak to an existing habit.

Streaks die when they're "something I'll do later." They survive when they're tied to coffee, lunch, the kids' bedtime, or the train. Pick one anchor and the daily round becomes muscle memory inside two weeks.

Common questions

Quick answers, no fine print.

If you don't see your question here, the help page goes deeper, and you can always email us at hello@cognibump.com.

Is CogniBump really free?
Yes — free forever. The site is supported by ads (we use Google AdSense) and there's no premium tier or paywall. Every game on the homepage is the full game; nothing is held back behind a signup. See the privacy policy for how ads and analytics work.
Do I need to create an account?
No. There is no signup flow on CogniBump. Your scores, streaks, and saved games live in your browser's local storage. That means clearing your cookies (or playing in incognito) wipes your progress — but it also means we don't have a profile of you sitting on a server somewhere.
How do daily streaks work?
Each daily game tracks how many days in a row you've played. Streaks reset if you skip a day or clear browser data. Because the streak is local, it's per-browser per-device — playing on your phone and your laptop builds two separate streaks. More on how this works.
Is CogniBump safe for kids?
The games themselves are general-audience and don't ask for any personal information. There are no profiles, no chat, and no social features. Ads are served by Google AdSense; if your school or family restricts third-party ads, review your IT policy before projecting the site in class. Our parents & teachers page has more guidance.
How do I challenge a friend?
Open WordRush Challenge or any TagTeam game, set up the puzzle, and copy the link from the share button. Paste it into a text or group chat — your friend opens the link in their browser and the puzzle is waiting. No account on either side; nothing to install.
Why is the same puzzle live worldwide?
Because comparison is half the fun. If you played a different puzzle than your sister or your coworker, the score wouldn't mean anything. Worldwide-shared puzzles mean a 4/5 in Tokyo is the same as a 4/5 in Toronto — and you can actually argue about whose answer was smarter.
Can teachers use CogniBump in class?
Yes. The math drills, geography quizzes, and Daily 5 work well as five-minute warmups, and there's no student login or roster setup involved. Project the site, or share a URL — that's it. The teacher guide has classroom pacing suggestions and a note on ads.
Who makes CogniBump?
CogniBump is published by TradeHawk HQ LLC, an independent studio based in Colorado, USA. Every game on the site is hand-built and curated — no syndicated question feeds, no AI-generated trivia. Spot an error in a question? Email hello@cognibump.com and the same person who built the game will read your message.
