What is Five Snap?
Five Snap is a quick daily odd-one-out game built around pattern recognition and categorical thinking. Each round you see four emojis — three share a clear connection (same category, same theme, same first letter, same color family) and one doesn’t belong. Your job is to tap the outlier as fast as you can.
The categories range from obvious (four animals and one piece of food) to tricky (three things associated with winter and one thing that’s just cold-adjacent). Five rounds run in about 60–90 seconds total, making it one of the fastest games in the CogniBump lineup.
How to play
- Five rounds, one play per day — same set for everyone worldwide.
- Each round: four emojis appear. Tap the one that doesn’t belong.
- No timer pressure per round — just five clean decisions.
- Share your score with the share button after finishing.
Why it’s good for you
Odd-one-out tasks measure categorical flexibility — the ability to quickly shift between different ways of grouping objects. It’s a standard item type in IQ testing and occupational reasoning assessments for exactly that reason. Playing it daily as a low-stakes warm-up is a genuinely useful way to keep that mental muscle active. Kids tend to pick it up faster than adults because they categorize more fluidly before learned assumptions kick in.
