- Under 300 is warm: you're in the right neighborhood.
- Under 10 is on fire: it's practically a synonym.
- There's no guess limit. Fewer guesses is better.
Tips
- Start broad: try a person, a place, food, nature, a feeling. Then chase whatever is warmest.
- Closeness is about context, not spelling. Words used in the same sentences rank close together.
- Stuck? A hint gives you a word halfway between your best guess and the answer.
FAQ
How does Warmer decide what's close?
It uses GloVe word vectors from Stanford, trained on millions of news and encyclopedia articles. Words that appear in similar sentences count as close, so "sea" is close to "ocean", and so is "coast". It can surprise you, and that's part of the game.
When is there a new word?
Every midnight, your local time. Everyone gets the same word, so you can compare guesses with friends. Missed a day? Tap Past words.
Why doesn't it know my word?
Warmer knows about 43,000 common English words and names. Plurals count as the singular, so "dogs" is "dog". Very rare words, slang and typos aren't in the list.
How does a challenge work?
Find the word and tap Challenge a friend. They get a link with your guess count and play the same word to try to beat it.
