Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 7, 2026

CogniBump (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates brain games and quizzes at cognibump.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We publish free games supported in part by advertising; this page describes how that works in plain language.

Who operates this site

CogniBump is operated by TradeHawk HQ LLC, an independent publisher of casual browser games and educational entertainment, based in Colorado, USA. For privacy questions or data requests, contact us at hello@cognibump.com (see also our Contact page).

Information we collect

  • Usage & analytics data. We use Google Analytics to measure site traffic and gameplay events (e.g., game started/completed). This may include IP address, device/browser info, and inferred location.
  • Advertising data (Google AdSense). We use Google AdSense to show ads that help keep gameplay free. AdSense and its partners may set cookies, use mobile advertising IDs, or read existing cookies to measure delivery, cap frequency, and (where allowed) personalize ads. You can manage personalization in Google Ad Settings. Where required, Google may show non-personalized ads instead.
  • Local data on your device (localStorage). Many games store progress, streaks, relay links, and scores in your browser’s localStorage so you can resume without an account. Keys vary by game (for example Daily 5 results, WordRush state, ritual checklists). This data never leaves your device unless you export or share a link deliberately. Deleting site data or using private browsing removes it.
  • Crash & performance logs. Our servers may record standard logs (e.g., request time, user agent) for security and reliability.
  • No account required. We don’t ask you to create an account or submit personal details to play.

How we use information

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the site and games.
  • Measure performance and gameplay to make features better.
  • Show ads and understand their effectiveness.
  • Prevent abuse and ensure security.

Cookies & similar technologies

We and our partners (Google Analytics, Google AdSense) use cookies and similar technologies. You can control cookies via your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect features.

Ad controls: visit Google Ad Settings to manage personalized ads or opt out: adssettings.google.com. General opt-out info: policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

Analytics opt-out: Google’s browser add-on is available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Schools, families, and ads

Many schools and families use CogniBump on shared devices. If your institution restricts third-party advertising, review your IT policy before projecting the site in class. Our Parents & teachers page has practical tips; coordinators may prefer ad-managed networks or guided sessions. Games themselves do not require accounts or student profiles.

Children’s privacy

Our games are suitable for a general audience, including families. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 for our own marketing lists, and we do not require children to create profiles to play. Analytics and ads may still process technical data as described above. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us directly (for example via email), contact us and we’ll delete it.

Data retention

Analytics data is retained by Google per their policies. Local game data (scores/streaks) remains in your browser until you clear it. Server logs are kept for a limited time for security and ops.

International users

Our services are operated in the United States. By using the site, you understand that your information may be processed in the U.S. where laws may differ from those in your country.

Your choices

  • Clear site data (cache, cookies, localStorage) in your browser settings.
  • Use ad and analytics opt-outs linked above.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as we add features or as laws change. We’ll update the “Last updated” date and, when appropriate, provide additional notice.
